From 1980 to 1985, DD. Records released a number of experimental works under the influence of foreign independent culture and attracted the attention of obscure music fans around the world due to the consistent artwork design and difficulty of acquisition. K. Yoshimatsu, a well-known figure in the music industry who performs and sings everything himself, released his solo cassette album Marine Crystal on the Villa Blanca label in 1985.

The album is an extension of the band's sound, but with a maximum pop swing, with a cool summer city-pop taste running through it. At the same time, the lyrics, with their sci-fi concept of nostalgia for a paradise lost, such as an uninhabitable earth and sunken continents, leave a strong impression that is anything but straightforward.
