Ženklo Grupė – Ženklas LP
☒ - this symbol is very popular in Lithuanian folk ornaments. It expresses the unity of the two: the sky and the earth, light and dark, past and future. In Lithuania's ancient culture this symbol was magic and expressed happiness and harmony. For Ženklo Grupė, this symbol signified the unity of the old and modern music, based on Lithuanian folk music. The unity of folk tradition and contemporary composition led to the manifestation of “improfolk" stylings with the goal of creating and presenting music connected with Lithuania's past. Through the use of kanklės, reed pipes, and other Baltic folk instruments, Ženklo Grupė’s debut 1991 LP “Ženklas” looked to the past to create something absolutely new and timeless, a form of suspended Lithuanian folk music.
Vinilo Studija presents Ženklo Grupė's “Ženklas” - remastered and produced in collaboration with the group, made available for the first time since its release in 1991.
Please note: copies may have some light creasing / corner bump damage from overseas transit.
